The first sketches of Doc

I needed a protagonist or fall guy for Oxford and felt a Doctor or scientist type would fit the bill and these are the first sketches where I worked out what Doc would look like. You can see that the second face's the one I settled on. This model sheet should give you an idea of what cartoonists go through during the process of creating comic strip characters. Usually cartoon characters are developed, not born, and this one was no exception
